DAVID WILLIAM PRICE

David William Price was born 1894 in Troedrhiwfuwch to parents Walter & Harriet Price. He had one brother Watkin and one sister Mary.

We are unable to establish where David lived after leaving Troedrhiwfuwch. In the 1891 census Walter, Harriet, Watkin, Mary along with a lodger lived at 13 Rising Sun Row, Troedrhiwfuwch. It is assumed this is where he born. It is thought his mother, Harriet died 1896.

David enlisted for War September 7th, 1914 in Merthyr Tydfil when he was 20 years old. He joined Royal Field Artillery. Gunner 41738. "B" Bty. 93rd Bde.

The next of Kin on his Military records was his brother, Watkin John Price, who is now a lodger at 10 Kings Street, Pontlottyn. Authorisation then changed to his sister-in-law Edith M Price at the request of his brother Watkin on the 18.04.1918.

According to his enlistment documents he attended “Home” 7th September 1915 – 21st July 1915 and France 22nd July 1915 until he was Killed in Action.

David was Killed in Action 15th July 1917. He is remembered with honour at Canada Farm Cemetery Grave - I. D. 11. Belgium
