FabLab

With funding from Awen Institute - Swansea University, Martin was able to design and create an information board for each soldier made from green oak. The boards were cut to size using Fablabs new CNC and laser engraved using a 60W Helix Laser Cutter. The Helix can engrave and cut a wide range of materials from hard and softwoods to plastics and papers. This laser features high definition optics that deliver the highest quality engraving consistently over the entire bed.  The boards were then hand finished and oiled with a UV resistant oil to slow down the aging of the timber before being installed in the War Memorial Garden.
